Lifetime warranties are a scam, unless you do every bit of maintenance they require at the mileage they require, and keep records of all oil changes etc they wont cover anything.

Timing chain is maintenance at a certain mileage. If you did not do the maintenance when they listed it needed to be done, then they will not cover it under warrenty.

#1) It's infuriating that you didn't start out saying it's a Kia. So many engine failures with these, it should be covered. #2) A Timing Chain and a Timing Belt are completely different. Timing Chain lasts the life of the vehicle, Timing Belt gets replaced at 100K miles.

Get your ducks in a row and be sure everything is in paper before going in and approving work. Say approve a couple of hours of diagnosis that may be necessary but best of luck to you

As a retired automotive technician I can't tell you how many vehicles came in for a warranty and then the company found some little thing to not cover it. And then the owner was on the hook for the tear down Bill and now had a vehicle in pieces. literally anything that modified your vehicle from stock like aftermarket wheels and tires. and you got to make sure you got proof of every piece of maintenance ever done, because if you went a little too long on one of your oil changes they're going to say that was it.
