My issue is that I use drawing on paper when explaining surgery (I am a vascular surgeon) to patients, and that is a big part of my communication style .- I know from feedback that my patients appreciate this. Unfortunately this cannot be reproduced by AI

Its great for now, but the root problem is for profit Healthcare owned my Wallstreet. As soon as that see you have free time to talk to patients they will just add more patients to the books to fill that gap and create more revenue. Its just the unfortunate tooth with capitalism and the greedy elite

I remember having time with my patients when I started my nursing career… then as the years passed, everything became paperwork and rushing.

Clinical Informatics Nurse here...our providers use Abridge now. It has been a game changer for them. Allows providers to pay attention to the patient and NOT the computer as well as getting them out of work and back to their life and family!!

About how much of your documentation does Heidi get right on the first try, and how much do you typically have to edit?

As a nurse for 20 years, I remember saying long ago how we needed something like this. We have gone away from bedside care and more towards checking boxes for insurance companies. I do think this is going to change how we do documentation but it will probably push some older people out.

Ai should definitely replace doctors, it's just not ready yet maybe 10 years or whatever. healthcare is just getting too complicated. it's impossible for humans to track the 100,000,000's of heath issues something to could be. it's easy to miss something because that doctor isnt a specialist in xxxx so they weren't even aware of it. it'd be nice to have 1 doctor with the knowledge of every specialist. humans at the end of the day are human and make mistakes. hell, there's a study that you're more likely to die if a surgeon performs the operation on the their birthday.

I agree! Can’t say that about many drs. I appreciate every symptom being noted. The diagnosis is as good as the information we provide the doctor. So when I write a list of symptoms I don’t want to forget to mention to the doctor I do appreciate seeing that in the medical record. pain makes it difficult for me to remember during my visit even though it takes 45 minutes especially if I have to self advocate. Poor follow up can cost you your life. It’s when you find a discrepancy as frustrating because then I feel misunderstood.

I have a very special brain that requires me to have a very close relationship with a rockstar neurosurgeon. The thing that has been most impressive was his bedside manner. When we were discussing my diagnosis he asked me to bring someone I wanted to have there for the discussion to take notes, ask questions, provide support. He took the time to tell us to feel free to record, drew a picture and referenced the images. Nothing can replace that.
