@the.baby.whisperer: Torticollis and neck spasms, what they really mean 👶 ⠀ A stiff neck, a head always turning the same way, or little spasms when baby lies down. These are not habits, they are signs of mechanical imbalance. ✨ ⠀ When birth puts more pressure on the body than it can absorb (forceps, vacuum, a long or short labour, an emergency c-section), the meninges can be disturbed. When that happens, the spine's primitive reflexes are very likely disrupted too. ⠀ You see it as head jerking backward in sleep, muscle spasms when lying down, a side preference, a c-shape at rest. In marked cases: torticollis, flat head, reflux or latching difficulties. ⠀ A planned c-section can lead to similar patterns from the missing stimulations.
