In Feb we went to Nassau and ahead of time I booked The Edge at Atlantis. $50/person and it was a beautiful beach with no crowds, they give you a lounger with an attached umbrella, food and bar service, and no one trying to sell you anything. I would definitely go back if we go to Nassau again. It was worth it!

Was there last week. Took a quick 10-15 min cab ride to Cable Beach and had a great time. Beautiful beach and was not packed at all.

I understanding staying on the ship if you cruise a lot because Nassau is a fairly common stop on Caribbean cruises since it's so close to Florida that almost every itinerary stops there. But if it's your first or second or third port there, absolutely check it out and learn for yourself if it's enjoyable for you or not. You paid for the port stop, so may as well use it.

I went past Junkanoo and found a man named Fred who had chairs for rent for $20, 6 beers on ice for $25. We walked to the queens staircase and then the beach. We were offered lots but not overly harrased.

We walked to the Queen's Staircase and the Pirate museum (which has the best AC if you're hot and wasn't expensive). If you're claustrophobic, steer clear of the Straw Market
