How about if you have frequent brain fog? Really difficult to prove. If you cannot get your head around projects, repeatedly what do you do then? From the employer perspective this could be perceived as lack of competence for instance.

I’m sorry but this isn’t accurate and I say this as someone who is post menopausal but also works in HR. If reasonable adjustments are in place, but there is still an inability to carry out the role on a sustainable basis despite those measures being in place, it would be a case of assessing medical suitability for the role which can result in dismissal. Equally, a reasonable adjustment would be to perhaps adjust absence triggers for absences relating to menopause, but there wouldn’t be an expectation to remove them entirely meaning a dismissal is still possible as an ultimate outcome - albeit it may be a longer process to ensure the colleague has received all possible support before reaching that conclusion.

NHS Scotland. on a stage 1 for 2 absences. One was absent due to having a hysterectomy. The other was absent due to severe Menopause symptoms while trying to get my HRT medication correct! No support given whatsoever, when submitted a flexible working request. This is how the NHS treat their female staff 😔

A reasonable employer these days have a menopausal policy, as us trade union officers and reps have fought for this over the year’s alongside TUC and the key word here is could be a covered by equality act. Smaller employers are not so educated in such forward thinking in this department.. join a union l!! Simple it’s what we do..

Hey so you’re implying completely wrong info 🤠 ultimately if it’s leads to an unsustainable number of absences you can still dismiss. Precedence set by McMahon v Rothwell & Evans 2019

I am working shifts including nights. the nights are killing me no sleep, can't function on my days off, to knackered to do much. is it reasonable to ask for a referral to occupational health to discuss this?
