I teach history and government. I cannot even tell you how frustrating it is to see what’s really taking place but people shouldn’t have to fully understand international diplomacy to make decisions about who to vote for.

i mean, but they're still producing something that both investors and more importantly tue government really wants: scaling progress & frontier models. same with anthropic, if they stopped training new checkpoints, heavily quantized what they have, and focused on serving they could probably make an acceptable margin, but they would become absolutely irrelevant the minute deepseek or moonshot dropped a new iteration that beats them. and the US government would step in if they did that. because now that we're regularly seeing models with stronger and stronger exploiting capabilities, this isn't a market anymore. it's an arms race hinging on mutually assured destruction. and dod employee with a handful of brain cells more than hegseth is scared out of their minds at the thought of falling behind.

I heard a Greek politician complain that the northern EU countries love to point count corruption in his country but said that their corruption is disguised as policy and is therefore more acceptable. I remember it years later 😂
