Hannette Olivier :
Correcting a pup is how an older dog teaches them. Horses do the same, even chickens do the same.

Yep that’s the way it’s supposed to be . When we had a littler of puppies born instead of letting them go at 6-8 weeks we waited 10-12 weeks so they had a lot of boundary learning from mom and dad . Also we had one of the most dangerous breeds out there that are known for biting and being hard headed .. Chihuahuas

this is true about any animal. when I used to Foster kittens my adults male cat reared all of them. he taught them how to clean themselves proper social skills he taught them to come when called he taught them how to use the litter box. I hardly did anything, he was the best.

my old girl did this with my heeler
she's passed now and my heeler now does exactly what she did to the new pup too. it's so beautiful to see he learnt so much from her 🥹

Older dogs know exactly how to convey the message & the puppy understands it a lot easier than a human saying no, same for most animals, nobody teaches the young better than a mature role model

we had an older dog. she trained two puppies. she had a specific bark just for them when they were out of line. and the funny thing is they knew that bark. trust the older dogs.

It’s very important that you let the older dog tell the little one off just like a parent does with her kids, little one has to learn ❤️🐾

Letting the adult dog correct the puppy is just perfect! No one can teacha puppy better how to be a gopd dog and abother more experienced good dog! Just pay attention and as long as he doesn't actually hurt her, everything's fine!

When my mother got her two puppys she insisted that my ex and i come with out dog more often just for them to learn. They learnd alot of commands and walking off leash trough him

the only reason why they say that is because he's seen as a "dangerous breed" if it was a golden or lab they would say he's doing great work

none of those corrections were mean or violent i stand by if their not violent corrections my dog will be just fine to get corrected and everything by said dog barks and growls and knocking over is okay but i always watch for a clear difference i correct overly aggressive corrections but simple corrections i aint concerned about it

Older dogs are supposed to correct pups! This is completely natural and it's often why (humane breeders) like those who breed working k9s have multiple mothers around the liters.
