the amount of fanfiction where Percy and Jason drink like frat boys stuns me. They were both abused by alcoholic parental figures (Jason got ditched by one, but he knows what kind of person Beryl was and how she died), Percy is canonically uncomfortable near drunk people, and I imagine Jason would also be uncomfortable relationship with the stuff. Also missed angst opportunities??

Honestly the only reason I think Percy didn’t SEE his mom get sexually abused is because I have no doubt he would have beat Gabe, no matter the consequences. That being said, Gabe absolutely abused them, and probably told them that they were protecting each other by letting it happen
