The traditional clothing of the Lezgins is similar to that of other peoples of Dagestan. Men wore a shirt, loose trousers, a beshmet, a cherkeska, and a papakha; in cold weather, they also wore a bashlyk and a sheepskin coat, which had several variations. Women wore a shirt-dress, colorful loose trousers, a beshmet, a chukhta, and headscarves of various shapes and colors. Common ornaments included silver belts for both men and women, as well as head and chest decorations, bracelets, and rings.
