I clean my own Airbnbs. I charge $25 for my 2 bedrooms and $30 for my 3 bedroom. I have a super high guest rating. Also….i do everything myself.

yeah I think you're missing the point. it's not the fact that there's a cleaning fee, it's the fact that there's a cleaning fee and then you want us to clean for you. I've had Airbnb want me to take out the trash, and then take take the big trash can down the driveway and set it on the curb.

If you think I’m going to spend half my vacation day, cleaning somebody else’s house, you are out of your ever living mind. They should include the fee in the cost of the Airbnb rather than showing a low price and then tacking on fees, which is underhanded pricing in my opinion. Then they should hire somebody to clean it for them because it isn’t gonna be me.

I'm not paying for a deep clean of a property I spent one or two nights in. I stopped using airbnb a long time ago when the cleaning fee became more than a nights stay at a hotel and I was expected to do half of the cleaning

Cleaning is part of the cost of doing business. Part of the cost of me renting the location is that you need to clean it. I should not be paying higher cleaning fee or even a separate cleaning fee.

Yeah there is absolutely zero reason to spend 4 hours cleaning a 3 bedroom home after a 1 or 2 night stay unless the people completely trash it.

Hiding cleaning fees in descriptions rather than including it in top level search results is a bigger issue. Owners should provide a total cost and, optionally, break down the amount.

This is exactly why I stopped using Airbnb, the “hosts” have overall lost their minds. A cleaning fee should only be for extra cleaning. Charging extra for standard operating procedures is crazy. Do you charge for the use of sheets? Is there a door knob fee?
