I miss when I was younger and I believed if I worked hard, stayed later, and truly put in visible effort that it would get me far in my career. There’s nothing I want more than to be successful and stable. For some reason it seems unrealistic in any industry unless you can afford to own your own business.

I was laid off 3 times in under 2 years and have been laid off for a total of 5 times. It sucks, it’s embarrassing and I do not wish it upon anyone. But truly I’m happy at the company I’m at now and I’ve been here for 2 years

And then 3-6 months later they fill all those positions back. Everyone left has to do extra work to pick up the slack of being understaffed, and the company saves a few months of payroll costs. You’re right, they absolutely should be embarrassed
