Most of these brokers don’t even funnel your trades to liquidity providers in the live market, they just take the opposite end of your trade in house.

Nah I don't agree with that. If you are using a STP broker your order gets sent automatically into the liquidity provider. If you are using an ECN broker or B-Book broker then the broker acts as a middle man to send your trade into the liquidity provider. People are are mostly trading with B-Book brokers who provide them with unlimited leverage and thats why these guys end up getting scammed. Those brokers will always protect their assets at the expense of the trader. Also people don't trade full time with these brokers and they only use them to trade news events to make quick money of course these brokers will manipulate their trades.

that's a terrible truth no one can escape. even though you have calculated your risk, you have put your stop loss, in such volatile conditions such as NFP or CPI etc, it's possible the market completely bypasses your stop loss as if it wasn't even there. that's the reason REAL BROKERS will not permit trading for a particular time window during such events, and that's the main reason you will see a complete vacuum, if the order book or price ladder i.e. bookmap is accessible to you. the advice for retail traders like us is simple, just do not trade such events. 🥸
