@natmoneymadeeasy: These are 5 simple ways I use 'sinking funds' to reduce financial stress. I started doing this a few years ago and would never change this system.#savingmoney #saving
I've just finished reading "The Richest Man in Babylon"... game changer. If you haven't read it, please do! 🙏🏽

That £335 put by a month, just for those things. Most people nowadays dont have £335 a month spare.

So you’re asking people to save £250 a month. A MONTH!! Most people can’t save £250 a year at the moment, let alone a month.

But how is that saving money? Saving money to me is buying Christmas presents in January sales & not saving £600 to spend £600 in December I’d be saving £420

This is good advice but only if you make enough to actually save in reality most people don’t have that spare money at the end of the month to save.

This is what I have been doing for years. I would panic every time a regular event would happen, like car insurance, christmas, kids birthdays. I knew they were coming but I never planned for them. Now the costs are spread across the year, it takes off so much pressure.

Just do the penny saving challenge with Monzo for Christmas also don’t buy for the sake of it, just do a need present, a want present

Basically add it up: you’re saying save £325 a month. Probably to most people who dont have that to save.

I can advise people to put amounts of money away each month for everything but if they haven't got that money spare they can't afford to so the advice is only good for those who can afford to do it

I’ve used ‘sinking funds’ for years and it’s such a great habit to get into, people can change the amount to fit their personal circumstance or pause if required ☺️
