I hate Nesta bc she was a shitty sister as a human and a fae and had no real character development until the last 20 pages of the longest book in the ACOTAR series. Shes boring and I get she’s written to be empowering but I never got that vibe from her, being traumatized is a real struggle but it doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want to those around you. Give grace but to an extent..

I love Nesta because I feel very much like her except different because she is nasty to keep her walls up but I isolate myself to keep my walls up. There have been times I have been unnecessarily nasty to people but I have worked through that. I’ll be a Nesta defender till I die

I hate Nesta because of how awful she was towards Feyre, no one deserves that, especially not after what she went through. I can't bring myself to hate Chaol and Aedion because I understand why they did what they did. Dain grew on me later in the series.

Then for me, there is Elain. The character that's misunderstood by everyone. People called her weak because she chose kindness over aggression even in the hardest situation. ( like when Nesta sad harsh things to her in front of whole family). Since being a "strong woman" is always imagined as being a female who fights with a sword in her hand, the quiet and gentle support of her is always underestimated. ( she is the one who killed the king of hybern to protect her sister btw lol ). I see so many comments that say she is so boring and useless and for this reason, she doesn't deserve her own story and a male she obviously has feelings for. I can't believe this hate because she is always willing to help everyone and the home that she feels belong to, with both her presence and her powers. However, there is a cage ,made by people who wants to protect her, that she is trying to get out. I am convinced that her book will focus on the path she will take to reveal herself with her own language. Not everyone should be a badass, and everyone has their own strengths. Her strength is kindness , she has her soft feminine aura, she has small calming hobbies, and she has so much love for everyone. None of these should make a woman less "useful", or less "deserved for a man".
