Fines were only issued to trucks and coaches with Dutch license plates, as the violation does not fall under the European CBE Directive, which enables the exchange of license plate data between countries. Starting September 1, trucks with Belgian, German, and Swiss license plates can also be fined, according to a CJIB spokesperson. A separate treaty exists with those countries.
