Eywa is just a save point where your memories are copied. Both bodies die and there conscious experiences with them. Thats why an ancestor in Eywa can’t make new memories.

Grace's human body died, her brain died with her. They put the avatar on life support since 1. it's expensive AF and they definitely felt sentimental about it for a while and 2. they realized it was pregnant. But her Avatar didn't have a consciousness of its own, just bodily functions

When the human dies, they disconnect with the Avatar. Their mind has to be put into the Avatar otherwise it’s not useable anymore. But when the Avatar dies, the human wakes up alive. Only the Avatar is them dead.

Well na'vi only go to eywa if they connected to her at some point, and when they die they only remember everything up until the last time they connected (It is like uploading themselves to eywa and when they connect they basically update the data). So ig the human would in fact go to eywa but they would not remember anything that happend after the last time they connected including their death

I think as long as you have a Na'vi body (or Avatar, but still, genetically mostly Na'vi) you'll go to Eywa after death

Eywa has to have the humans body for them to join eywa but if they dont eywa will still remember all the memories they shared whenever they connected with her as an avatar

I think it's just about the persons spirit When changing to an avatar your spirit/soul gets transferred and the avatar has the key to be able to connect the first time but once you're connected the first time, your spirit can go to eywa no matter what body the spirit dies in Just my theory
