@gabriellew13: only four days late but wanted to share a little morning in my life getting ready and going to serve at our church!! After I was fired from a church 5 years ago, volunteering was extremely hard for me. I felt constant triggers which isn’t something you understand unless you have been burned by the church. At our old church, I served once and had such bad flashbacks I never did it again. That was 4 years ago. This was only my second time volunteering at our church and this experience has helped me grow so much. It’s taught me to press through the uncomfortable and towards Gods calling. It’s taught that he’s with me even when I’m scared, and can give me his boldness when I don’t have it at all. Through my experience over the last 5 years and this month, I have learned leading has nothing to do with me and everything to do with God working through us. The routines and depth you create in your quiet place with God WILL spill over into everything else. And that’s what it’s all about - leading other people to that quiet place, the throne room of God. #worship #volunteer #churchhurt #churchgrwm #worshipleader
