This is just false while a blue whale’s call can be up to 188dB, to compare an underwater decibel level to an above water decibel level you have to subtract 26dB because of the pressure difference and 36dB due to the density difference. This leaves the call sounding and affecting the human ear roughly like 126dB (which is not powerful enough to burst our eardrums as that happens at 150dB)
