Pro-birth propaganda has genuinely made people forget how traumatic (in the mental and the physical sense) giving birth is. Doing that to an animal that is already in a less than ideal physical and mental state by itself is just cruel 😭

I do wonder if people stop to think about how the shelter or rescue knows nothing about half the genetics of those puppies. no one knows the temperament or health of the dog which impregnated the female dog (likely not bred to a highly tested and proven male dog).

It's gotta be so taxing on you to put so many animals down but you are doing the right thing don't ever doubt yourself. I'm so sorry you have to go through that. I watch all of your videos from beginning to end even though sometimes they're hard.

I rescued a mama cat and some kittens, spent hours outside trying to capture them, got them and got in contact with a rescue who would send animals to other rescues up north. Anyways they told me if I thought the mama cat was pregnant again they wouldnt agree to rescue her and her kittens bc the other rescue did spay aborts and they didn't believe in that. I was flabbergasted.

There isn’t enough HOMES PEOPLE!!!!!! We kill dogs and cats DAILY because NOBODY WANTS THEM! the people who want dogs already have them. They are all unwanted EXCEPT as props in babyhood. And then they are dumped! Do people honestly think there is room for them all?

And I doubt they’re testing what type of health complications the parents could have because they most likely only have the mom. They could be signing up these puppies for a really hard life

I really think it's because of the court of public opinion. the shelter I adopted my dog from does not do spay aborts and I think the reason why is the public would rip them to shreds. they would lose any public support and adoptions would drop like a lead pipe
