Healthcare before you’re 65 and get on Medicare is the biggest expense, and you’ll find out that Medicare Part B, and the best Medigap plan (NOT ADVANTAGE) is costly. For future reference, be sure to keep your Adjusted Gross Income below the IRMAA thresholds. If you don’t, your Medicare Part B and prescription drug premiums go up.

I got a new car in retirement as my big splurge. Love my CRV with all the things. Also - high quality food, books, healthcare, and experiences with my kids are a priority. Cut corners in all other areas.

When I retired at 58 I realized health and time were my most important assets. That's why I have landscapers, pool cleaners, window cleaners and housekeepers. So I can spend more time on the golf course, in the gym and traveling. Can't bring myself to buy new cars. Just can't live with the depreciation so I buy 2-3 year old cars off lease still with lots of warranty time left. Health insurance is by far the most expensive item. So irritating.

All of these things! Retired early also. Love it. My fav pjs honestly and they feel great are Walmart joyspun. Try them. They feel just like the expensive ones.

Small “luxuries” are what I enjoy so much in retirement……daily avocado, comfortable bras, shoes, clothing, and homemade coffee drinks exactly as I want them with my spoiled rescue dog🥰
