I finally did it! 😆 After over a year of constant nightly wakings forcing me to choose cosleeping when I just couldn’t take it anymore, we have now trained them to sleep in their own cribs through the night. They have coslept with me for a year and 4 months total and I just knew it had to be time to end it. My husband has been crashing the couch this entire time to the point that it already has his body imprinted on it 😂 To be clear, they had a strict sleeping schedule and would fall asleep in their own cribs with me by their side but would wake up in the middle of the night refusing to go back to sleep. In the last two weeks we have been working on not bringing them into our room at all through the night and two weeks later, I can say, we stayed strong and did it! I think they now realize I’m not bringing them into my bed so they kind of stopped waking up altogether through the night! First couple nights were rough though! Felt like the newborn stage all over again. Another thing we’ve been working on is not holding hands when falling asleep. That’s the only way they’d want to fall asleep in their cribs so I did it for as long as I can remember, since the moment I stopped rocking them to sleep. Now I sit in the rocking chair waiting for them to fall asleep which is a big win because i get to write this post up for you guys as they’re falling asleep! 2 weeks guys! That’s all it took! ❤️ so glad I stuck it through. Although I will miss cosleeping with them, I think I gave them enough time to grow and become more independent and aware of what’s going on before making this switch. And because I waited this long, I think that’s what made this so much easier on both them and I without all the screaming and crying you get when they’re babies. Definitely wish I could get uninterrupted sleep much earlier than 2 1/2 years but I’m proud to have been there for them even when it was hard for me to do so and I could’ve given up. Not sure if I’ll choose to wait this long with any future babies 😅 These two definitely have a special place in my heart ❤️ #twinmom #twintoddlers #sleeptraining #gentlesleeptraining #bedtimeroutine #sleeptrainingtwins #twinsleeptraining #sleeptraining101 #sleeptrainingtoddlers #foryou #foryourpage
