the most frightening hallucination I had was when one of my Voices started using trump's voice talking about feeding prisoners factory grown meat as an expirament. the trump voice was a jumpscare.

Strangely this video made me realise it's normal to not massively react to hallucinations. I kinda felt like I was somehow faking hallucinations to myself cos a lot of the time I've simply gone "ah that's unfortunate. Sure am glad it's not real." and only occasionally have big reactions

I like when my auditory hallucinations are helpful. I have DID and sometimes I'll hear "WATCH OUT STUPID!!!" just as I'm about to step in a pothole or "WAKE UP YOUR PHONE IS RINGING!!"

omg I love the idea of the flower hallucination that's very sweet I love seeing positive hallucination representation because no they are not all bad. one of my friends has a hallucination called tea time who literally all he wants is a cup of tea and my friend will make an extra cup of tea for him and tea time and then drink it when tea time goes away

also, if i may — if someone’s does get violent in psychosis, it’s almost always a fear response, esp when feeling cornered. usually it only lasts as long as the perceived threat. in my experience, exit routes usually come before any violence. also! i

Don’t have psychosis but do experience frequent hallucinations. But I was surprised people are so shocked when I say i don’t get scared even when it’s something scary looking. Like yeah im kinda expecting it to happen by now I know it’s not real 😭

Genuine question, what exactly is psychosis, I’ve only ever seen psychosis being used as a way to insult or call someone crazy (which is so ablest), but I’ve never had it actually defined or seriously talked about (yes ik google is free but I’d rather here about it from someone who actually knows/has experience with it than the internet, though I will also be going to do research as well b/c I like being educated)

I have an oc with psychosis, he smokes a lot of weed and that’s what causes his psychosis. Sometimes it stresses him out but he normally lives accepting his hallucinations being there. The way I wrote him is based on what I learned during my mental first aid course. He’s a rlly friendly guy, rlly social, sometimes it’s worse than usual but he’s at worst gonna cry and stress about it, doesn’t hurt anyone, just a normal guy with psychosis.

Pro tip for writing about any condition: look up the symptoms and think about how you’d deal with them, and how you’d adapt your daily life to them if they were a common occurrence. This works very well because, contrary to popular belief, disabled people are also people, much like yourself!
