Following the heartbreaking discovery of their son, Parker's parents asked that we still share their message publicly as a way of expressing their gratitude for the overwhelming support they received from Calgarians throughout the search. During the most difficult time of their lives, they were surrounded by kindness, compassion, and a community that stood beside them every step of the way. To Parker’s Mom and Dad, I never knew your son, but I prayed every day for his safe return. I live in California and I wanted to help search for him but Canada is far from me, so i asked Cristian prayer groups to hold him in prayer 🤲 When I read the news, my heart broke. As a mother of an autistic child, this touched me in a deep way. I understand how fiercely we love our kids and how heavy this fear is. Parker was so loved. There should be an audit on how the CPS managed the search… their main attention was Nose Hill Park for some reason when there were no signs of Parker heading there. CPS MISSED THE CULVERT THAT WAS LESS THAN A KM FROM WHERE HE WAS FOUND. I’ve seen people mentioning prior to finding him that they should check the water and especially the culvert and the industrial area.

What people in AB (and across Canada) need to focus on is that this was people from all walks of life. UCP, NDP, Separatists, Teachers, Nurses, Oil Field Workers, Truck Drivers, Politicians, Data Centers, Solar Installers, Finance and so on and so on. People step up when needed, that is the Canadian and North American way. No one asked who they voted for, whether they were religious or not, whether they had a bottle of American booze in their cabinet, if they refused a vaccination. At the end of the day we care about each other we can and should respect each other and we need to leave everything else aside.

To Parker’s mom and dad, There truly are no words for a loss like this. My heart breaks for you and your entire family. As a mom to two nonverbal autistic boys, your story has touched me in a way I can’t even explain. Every day, I know the worry that comes with raising children who can’t always tell us what they need or where they are. I prayed for Parker, and like so many others, I held on to hope.
