Just wanna say it wasn’t handled well by the school or the police. We were partying like we normally did at Keene but we had a lot of visitors who planned to party outside all day. When kpd showed up, they had us all leave and immediately brought in reinforcements which was overkill. Then the dorms said no visitors were allowed in the buildings, leaving hundreds of drunk kids stranded, unable to drive home or go anywhere to chill out. There were plenty of people from other schools there too. Yik yak was a thing back then, and UNH and Plymouth kids were boasting about the destruction they caused. So it wasn’t just Keene state kids. Lots of kids from other schools were arrested. But we literally had NO where to go besides the streets. Otherwise these kids would’ve all drove home drunk. I’m not defending the behavior. My best friends car was destroyed, a bunch of stuff stolen out of it. Another friends car had his roof caved in and mirror kicked off. It sucked. But like, you tell hundreds of drunk kids to leave these houses… where do they go?

I had the unfortunate luck of walking down the wrong street when the tear gas came out. Never did I think I’d experience tear gas.

I went to Keene ‘04-‘08 I don’t know what the kids were thinking that got this ban but can confirm during the peaceful days, it was the best. I routinely made $1,000 per day at my restaurant job that weekend. I also went back as an alumni it was the unofficially reunion everyone looked forward to. Shame on those kids for ruining it and anyone who is scoffing at how much this meant to the town overall.

I was tear gassed in a tree at Keene state pumpkin fest and was feet away from the silver car that was flipped on its head. I miss it 😂

I was 23 and out bar hopping with friends and my sister was a senior at Keene state. I wish I took photos/videos of what I witnessed. What a dumpster fire (literally) 😅

It was so surreal. We were on Main St at the festival and didn't realize anything was going on until we went back to the Owls Nests through tear gas. Man I miss what Pumpkinfest used to be. And I hate the narrative that all KSC students were proud or excited about the destruction.

The whole reason this happened was because of an unscrupulous "party company" advertised the event all over the northern east coast and sent bus loads of people whose main objective was to raise absolute chaos and were promised a party and then let loose on the city. I was in the middle of it all KSC kids honestly were some of the least of the problem yes they helped facilitate the damages but they weren't the initial agitators. It was preplanned chaos. That was one hell of a night. I still miss Pumpkin Fest it was such an event it had an immense energy that was all its own.
