this might be a controversial opinion, but i think Big Mouth is a good show for kids currently going through puberty as well. nobody should have to wait until after they become an adult to properly learn about their body.

That show is basically telling two jokes, depending on who's watching: For people going through puberty, "Look, I know puberty sucks, but you'll laugh about it later" For adults, "Remember how much puberty sucked?"

Big mouth is obviously for children. It’s obviously for like 13 to 15-year-olds who are just now experiencing puberty and going through stuff like that it’s actually really helpful. It teaches you some real things about your own body that school never taught you.

big mouth came out when I was 16, and up until it's cancelation taught me stuff about my body I NEVER learned from school, or my mom, or any other female. this show actually taught my mom things about her body. (it also promotes body positivity A LOT which has helped me and many other people with their insecurities.)

Okay so, I love this take, and not because I like big mouth in any way shape or form. I don’t get it, it makes me uncomfortable, but I have always been interested in who/why people like it. I think the whole “for pdf” thing is wayyyyy overshooting it, like my question really was really why it was made and who it was supposed to be marketed towards rather than who is actually watching it. Plenty of shows/games/media is made and marketed for one demographic and is beloved by a completely unintended audience, but big mouth always puzzled me because couldn’t understand who it was trying to target. This is helpful, I appreciate the thought you put into this 💕
