@birdfeedingwithkurtis: Did your water pump fail? Before you replace it, take it apart. One of the biggest surprises for people is just how reliable these little solar fountains actually are. Most “failures” aren’t failed motors at all. They’re simply clogged with algae, biofilm, leaves, sand, or a small pebble that’s worked its way into the impeller. The good news? They’re designed to come apart. In this video I intentionally placed a rock inside the pump to completely stop it from working, then took it apart, cleaned it, and had it running again in just a couple of minutes. If your fountain suddenly stops, don’t assume it’s dead. Pop the cover off, remove the impeller, rinse everything with clean water, and check for anything preventing it from spinning freely. That simple maintenance solves the vast majority of issues I see. A few minutes of cleaning can often save a perfectly good pump and keep your bird bath running all season long. #BirdBath #BirdFeeding #BackyardBirds

Does the gravel stop it floating around when there is wind? I have one and love it but it moves so much all the water goes over the side

I have the exact same one. For me it’s useless. You always have to poor in more water and the birds don’t even care!
