Its more expensive to farm, process in Kenya. It takes years to get the right yields to compete with source countries.I have done it before and totally worth it.

In Meru there is a place called Meru herbs where they only grow organic herbs for markets like Japan, Italy and Canada but 1st you have to be a member of the Co-operative to be allowed to sell to them and the payments are made monthly to the farmers.
