I agree with you and am optimistic that the government can be fixed. We just have to elect better people to run and reform our government. This election may be our best and last chance to do that. Please vote everyone

We have to put down the culture war long enough to realize we are all workers being exploited. When we do we will win the class war, and with it our problems will be drastically reduced.

It’s simply not possible. The 1% are doing what they’re doing because the 99% are so short sighted and ignorant that we will never ever do anything about it. Even if we somehow organized a revolution it would be one they planned and controlled to create the illusion of shifting power structures and change. At the end of the day WE ARE ALL SLAVES.

not quite. who we should really be blaming is ourselves. the things you mention are correct, but they're the symptom, not the cause. the most destructive aspect of human nature is that we don't love ourselves, in fact we're afraid of what we are and the aspects of ourselves we especially don't approve of. they terrify us so much that we instead project them onto other people, and so treat them as the enemy. this has gotten so bad over recent decades that empathy for others is at an all time low, and narcissism (which is built on self-loathing) is at epidemic levels. that means that scapegoating is also at an all time high. that explains genocide, gender war, governments, trump & musk, and the total breakdown of our relationships and friendships, regressing into disconnected transactional nothingness. and hatred, lots of hatred from all that unresolved internal pain and conflict, with zero accountability for the real internal reasons. the systems are corrupt yes, but they reflect us - it all starts with us. until we nurture self-empathy, which will then project outwards into empathy for others, we will continue to decline, catastrophically ..

It does change. In Europe discussion about 4 day working week is advancing. Flexible working office/home is also more and more common. But the triggering issue that is happening is education of economics/business. Emphasis of ROI, returns to shareholders, profits is at top, but the emphasis should be on contribution of businesses to community, that was backbone of capitalism. All metrics are built on productivity, profitability, market share etc, but very few metrics are on how much business contibutes to society.

An argument can be made that todays problems have their root in the 1960s 'revolution' that encouraged women out of the home & into the workplace. In the 1950s a single salary per household was enough to cover the main bills. In the 1960s with so many women taking up full time employment, a situation came about where many households had two ( or at least 1 1/2) incomes. This allowed the pursuit of consumer goods & luxury items in a way unthinkable previously, with all the extra disposable income. Plus many women were happy with it, not all of them wanted to be homemakers and the financial independence was welcome. But the net effect over time was inflation: with more disposable money around, prices went up as shops, builders etc realised they could charge more & ppl could afford to pay. Fast forward to today and most households nowadays can barely get by on two salaries, few ppl have the luxury of raising their own kids and instead have to pay strangers to do it for them - which does not bode well for society, put together with technology, phones etc means an even more isolated and disconnected generation, more mental health problems etc. no wonder we see an epidemic of nihilistic youth unaliving themselves etc. It's almost impossible to opt out if this rat race - prices will not go down to adjust for the people who want to stay at home and raise their own kids anymore. You could argue that the current economic model in the West is deeply anti-family, and if the Family is the basic building block of society, the economic model could also be described as sociopathic.
