Im 18 years old and just graduated highschool not that long ago and now I'm going to community college to get into the trades, but over the summer I got the opportunity to work as a counselor at a summer program for underserved children in K-5 that helps to prevent them from falling behind in their education and to provide them enrichment during the summer, and it has made me consider going into education instead of going into the trades. I've heard a lot of bad things and a lot of good things from other teachers, but I'm curious about what your experience has been like?

I’ve always been nice to them. My dad was maintenance for 40 years with a school district. I heard the horror stories from people being not so nice to him and he literally would do anything for them.

As a first year teacher last year I have a two year old I would drop off at daycare at 6:30 and pick her up at 3:30 our contracts hours are from 7:15-3:00. I had a veteran teacher complain I don’t come in early enough/late enough. My priority is my child I did my duty within those hours I’m going home to pour I to my kid

I love your border on your board. I also agree with all of this also if you have a paraor support staff make sure you treat them with respect and make sure the kids treat them with respect just like an other teacher.
