I’m baffled by the American viewpoint on this person’s situation. In Australia, you would definitely be paid for any extra hours worked even if there was a public holiday that week.

My Mom has had to deal with mountains of unemployment hearings. I can assure you she will in fact NOT have unemployment by the end of the day or any day.

I knew as soon as I heard that ding it was over. It’s crazy how someone could think acting like that is ok in any setting. I would think that would make for an automatic denial from unemployment, but I know it’s doesn’t always work that way.
