The answer to tattooing darker skin tones is most certainly not to use less black. The tattoo looks great for the picture though

On today’s lesson of color theory complementary colors, but instead of this case we’re not using complementary colors and the regular way if you are a darker skinned, then assaulting cracker the melanin in your skin is yellow, and the complementary color to that is purple so when you pass over light through purple and yellow on top of each other muddies each other out into a cooler, dark tone can even sometimes be viewed as almost off black when layered certain ways
