for everyone commenting on why it wasn’t activated, body cameras are always “passively recording” meaning for about 24 hours, all footage can be pulled before it starts recording over itself. when “activated” that just means you’re starting a video that when you “stop” it, the footage immediately gets sent to your chief of police’s admin and your direct supervisor etc. ALSO, when you “activate” the camera, AUTOMATICALLY the camera recording will go back 5 min prior. so the 5 min prior to this is recorded on their end also. (i was a CO in a state prison for like a year lol)
