The way he new to flip on his back holding the kid on top of him and go under before the wave came. A lot of people can't think in those situations. And he also knew of people tried helping more people would be in danger because that's what happens. One guy goes to help one and another guy comes to help that one and they all end up losing their life. He was extremely smart and kept him composure and a lot of people just cant do that in situations like this.

As a ex lifeguard…his dodging the surf by diving under it and keeping ahold of the kid is a pro move. That kids is awesome and was well trained.

I’m not a super religious man, but I say this with very deep upbringing. God shows his true strength through us when we don’t see it when we don’t realize it and he showed it through this young man saving that boy‘s life. So anybody that says they don’t believe they need to watch this. My wife told me this she said not all superheroes wear capes or fancy suits. They just never give up no matter what.

I was widowed at the age of 25. I lost my 30 year-old husband in the ocean in Oregon. They never found him. I have cried my eyes out re-watching this clip over and over and over again. This young man is such a freaking HERO!!!

I saved a girl in nusa penida. I’ll never forget the look of horror on her face. I saw the wave and I had a bad feeling. I ran into the wave and grabbed her arms and pulled her out. That was the second time we ran into eachother on the trip. She was from Slovenia and we met in Bali a week before. She was not going to die on my watch. I’d do it all over again. God bless this young man. It’s a selfless act. It’s love 💖

Brings tears cause I fear this above most things. My daughter is a girl of summer. She loooooooves the beach and the waves. She loves the water. And yet she doesn’t understand how completely dangerous it is. How quickly you can be swept away! Ugh.
