After that, every time the "good guys" send a new "chosen one" (and they're always orphaned teenagers, too trusting and malleable to realize they're cannon fodder), villain adopts them, clear out their brainwashing, and gives them the life they want and deserve (be it with them as a family, or somewhere far away, with a new family and frequent check ups).
