@ashkenazy11: This is why Bri and #santosprc should have taken classes on how to do things since they are doing stuff completely differrent this time.. and you can’t get lazy when it comes to storing breast milk.. if you are going away for a weekend just store 4-6oz bags in the freezer with 4-5 bottles in the fridge with 4-6oz in them so you know the baby is always having fresh breast milk .. not expired breast milk from a big pitcher from all week #fyp #viral #trending #viralvideo @Unemployedrichmom @Brisa Santos @Casa de Santos @NOTRUBYFRANKE @santos @Angie W. 🧦 @Teajunkie🤏🏽 @GMom.3

I have never seen anyone store a pitcher. We did bags, each feed got its own bag. You date and label. The excess you freeze.

I just think it must be difficult to be a mom all around, nothing we do is ever right, everyone puts the blame all on moms and the dad is never mentioned in this discourse. I understand that yes shes storing the milk incorrectly but perhaps instead of talking down on people we educate them or move on and not be negative.

As a mom that breastfed 2 out of 3 of my babies you are right. They tell you unfrozen milk is only good for 4 days. She needs the breast milk freezer bags. Then she needs to date it before freezing it. But shoe wont appreciate your advice she will just make some snarky response video. But you are actually giving her valid advice here.

Good dad's actually know ALOT about breastmilk and breastfeeding... and yes, the way she's been storing that BM has me worried. She needed to be freezing oz bagged servings.

Not to mention if you put fresh milk and cold milk together is not good either. Just bag and date it way easier.

Right. Also, isnt there a difference of daytime and nighttime milk? I know the NICU has my nephews new baby's mother pumping and labeling day or night on the milk before it is put in the fridge to be fed to her.

It’s actually weird. And she’s been filling it up for 4 days now instead of freezing it.

As an exclusive pumper three times, I used a pitcher bc I had an over supply. But I bag every night (maybe every other) so the longest it’s in the fridge is 2 days. Keeping it in the fridge all week is crazy.

While the CDC currently recommends cooling freshly pumped milk before combining it with refrigerated milk and using refrigerated breast milk within 4 days, there is research suggesting that both practices can still be safe for babies when proper hygiene is followed and the milk is expressed and handled correctly. The CDC’s recommendations are the most conservative guidelines, but the newer research does indicates the actual risk may be lower than previously thought under ideal storage conditions ☺️

I never trusted the pitcher method it seems like it would just grow mold. what I pump in one day goes in a bag of 5oz sometimes it goes over a couple days but no more then 3 days in the fridge before frozen.

Yeap you are supposed to keep track of the days of she’s producing enough to store she is suppose to separate it. Store some in the fridge to use that day and then some on the freezer to use later. Keeping track of the time and day is important and that’s why you label each milk bag you store with the time and date. They specifically tell you to not store multiple days together
