If this came from a barrel, I would worry. The alcohol level can drop in a barrel. The alcohol level can drop to 40% from 70% over 100 years. But if it aged 200 years. It possibly could be 20% alcohol. He’s saying he can’t taste that much alcohol. If it goes below 20%, you have the risk of getting a serious bacteria. However, it’s in a bottle. In a bottle, the alcohol content will never drop on cognac. So it should be as good as the day it was sealed. If that cork is stable and not damaged.
