@lysazal: the most important thing is that you TAKE ACTION. set aside 4 hour, body double with 2-3 friends, and pick something to start with. notes below 0. pay off your fkn CC debt 1. get a HYSA and AUTO-ALLOCATE $ INTO IT 2. invest in a 401k/403b/roth IRA and AUTO-ALLOCATE $ INTO IT 3. get a brokerage and auto-allocate this takes time. but its not magic and its not luck. you got this. #financialliteracy #financialfreedom #saving #generationalwealth #finances
Also a big help is surprisingly REDDIT. Read a lot, learn from mistakes others made and DO MOT DO THEM.

Pay off credit card , build up 6 months of savings. Save up to open Roth IRA ? Invest your Roth IRA then have zero money but money when you retire. I’m at the save for Roth IRA stage but it’s getting scary I’m so broke dude lmao

First and foremost, thank you for not spending the first half of this video talking about how you “had no idea this was gonna blow up” followed by other unnecessary things before getting to what everyone wants to know. Second, thank you for everything else. ❤️

Get a Roth IRA BEFORE you make more than 70k a year!!! Start early in life, it’s the difference between an extra 500k or an extra couple million later in life!!

I loved I Will Teach You To Be Rich by Ramit Senti because he mainly focuses on getting yourself set up like you described and also the psychology of spending/saving and just around money and financial institutions in general. It really helped me change my perspective on money and saving and honestly helped me get into a position to save for retirement/fun, and big life milestones like getting married and buying a house. It’s never too early to start and if you haven’t started saving/investing yet just start

Any credit card that you’re paying interest on, transfer it to a zero interest credit card. Work out the math because you will have to pay a transfer fee, if you can’t pay it off before the end of the promotion, transfer it again. When you get a raise use that percentage to put into your 401(k) or one of the things she suggested. A lot of great advice!

People can’t do step one because of the debt to income ratio. BUT once you’re able to, it’s almost like the rest of the steps are easy asfk

Love this! I tend to swap 0. And 1. As having no savings and aggressively paying off CC debt can just lead to you needing to use a credit card again for an emergency expense. I think 3 months of emergency savings first then aggressively pay down credit card debt but everyone has a bit of a different opinion on that.

Backdoor ira is putting the funds into a regular ira and then moving it to a roth ira so you dont have to pay the taxes on it. i only know the brokerage side, so i have no clue how the hell the tax magic works but i plan to find out so i can try it bc a LOT of well off people do it so its gotta be good right???
