The lone juror who voted to convict Lindsay Clancy is now at the center of a new controversy. Clancy’s M*rder trial ended in a mistrial after the jury deadlocked 11-1. Eleven jurors reportedly favored finding her not guilty by lack of criminal responsibility, while one man voted to convict. Now, an online fundraiser for that holdout juror has raised more than $100,000. The organizer said the money could help cover security, legal costs, and lost work if the juror faces backlash. But shortly after the mistrial, NBC 10 reported that the man had previously faced domestic Viol*nce allegations. According to the report, he was charged in 2021 with Ass*ulting his then-wife. That charge was later dismissed. NBC 10 also reported that his nephew currently has a restraining order against him and alleged in court documents that the juror once pushed him down and punched him repeatedly. Those allegations have raised questions because Massachusetts juror questionnaires reportedly ask whether potential jurors have ever been arrested, charged with a crime, or served with a court order. Judge William Sullivan had already rejected a request from Clancy’s attorney to remove the holdout juror during deliberations after questioning the jurors individually.
