Been a nurse for over 30 years, now based in SoCal, and I totally get you. I’ve worked ICU, dialysis, and different areas of nursing, and now I work remotely in clinical documentation review. I’m at a point in my nursing career where I’m ready for a simpler life. I find myself looking for a place in the Philippines where I can eventually settle down, live peacefully, and be far from all the noise. I never got paid as much as you do, but at some point, you realize it’s not always about the money. Living in the US is a dream for so many, and I’m grateful for the opportunities here. But the culture of always working, earning, spending, and needing to earn more just to keep up can wear you out.

I can relate. I’m a travel nurse and also feels burnt out. I’ve been a nurse for 17 yrs now and I can actually retire if I want to but I feel like I’m still too young to do so. It’s just the fast paced of living and quality of life isn’t what I’m looking for, money isn’t everything if the job is making you feel miserable. Life is short, do what makes you happy.

Was an ICU stepdown nurse and Cardiac nurse in the US for 12 yrs but I went back to the Phils. for good before Covid and still loving it here. There are ups and downs of living here but I wouldn’t want it any othet way. I have a business here now and thankful that my husband has a good paying job. Just make sure to straighten out your finances first before moving back to the Phils. God bless!

Omg same sentiments (currently transtioning my family back home sa probinsya p.i and its not easy transition tho fr . I Worked as RN too ucsf/saint marys , worked as a nurse almost 20 years yay area na jumping from hospital to hospital finding contentment pero feel ko simple life ang tumatawag sakin at pamilya ko .lol i quit last year sa ucsf coudnt do the culture and constant hussle sa city , pero actually dito parin ako unti unti making moves to come closer sa simpleng buhay sa probinsya soon . Good luck sayo !!

I would say, sis, that when you're still young and full of energy, America is a great place to be because there are more opportunities. But as you get older and don't have as much energy, I think it's better to move back to the Philippines, where life is simpler, the cost of living is lower, and you'll be closer to family.

Glad i have found a high paying job here in eastcoast tapos laid back ang lifestyle. Para kaming nasa probinsiya, pero just 30+ mins away from DC. Ang ganda ng memories na na build namin from staying here. I seldom do OT. Mostly off and pto😂 most of my workmates moved to Cali pero nung nag bakasyon kami sabi ko talaga cali is not for me, and definitely not for raising my kids. I hope you found what is best for you 🙏

Hi sis I also had that season in my life when i was in italy i was paid more than what i dreamed of but I chose to live here in the Philippines even though i earn less here i feel like i am living my purpose and spending beautiful time with my small family kaya i support u ipagpray mo lang sis 🙏i know God will lead u to the right place
