Matthew 17:21 is missing from modern Bibles because it does not appear in the earliest and most reliable Greek manuscripts of the New Testament

Please re read the verses above that. The disciples asked why they couldn't cast the demon out. Jesus said, "Because of your UNBELIEF" The name of Jesus is more powerful than ALL demons. When Jesus was saying "this kind" comes out by prayer and fasting, He was talking about this kind of "unbelief" not this kind of demon. the action of prayer and fasting alone isnt what gets rid of that kind of unbelief. The purpose and the result of prayer and fasting when done with the right motive, is that it gets our focus off of the natural world, and back on to God and the spiritual realm. When we focus on Him and His Word, our faith gets stronger because we are reminded of His power and promises. Unbelief hinders the power of God from working in the life of someone that has unbelief and doubt. if He was talking about casting out the demon, then that would put the power to cast it out in our hands, if we prayed and fasted. (our own actions) The name of Jesus is above every name, so the name of Jesus casts out all demons. NO demon is more powerful than His name. But their UNBELIEF is what was holding the power of God back in their lives. Thata why they couldnt cast that demon out, because of THEIR unbelief that they could do it. they weren't focusing and believing that it was Gods power that casts out demons. they were focused on their own ability to cast it out or not. Prayer and fasting resets our thinking by getting us to focus on God and HIS ability to work THROUGH us. Love you all!❤️✝️

They tried to keep us from knowing how to get demons out by prayer & fasting. Guess what - thanks to our elders we already knew it. I remember the old timers telling us to know our word & hide it in our hearts because they would take it one day 🔥🙌🏽🔥🩵🫵🏽 We have so much POWER & AUTHORITY in the Holy Spirit !! Woot woot ladies !! That verse was not found in the oldest manuscripts. When it was translated into the KJV, it was in the manuscripts they had. When the Dead Sea scrolls were found in the 40’s, that verse was not in Matthew. To stay true to the oldest texts known, most translations have taken it out but add a footnote to the bottom of the page. The verse is also found in Mark I believe (which WAS in the oldest manuscripts and not taken out) so it’s not taken out. It’s not a conspiracy and any real research will lead to this conclusion. I understand it can be confusing but there are many scholars and translators that are true believers that explain this. God bless ❤️☺️
