One time I had a really really cool roll on underwater film that I used all summer and when I went to take it out my bf flashed his flashlight on it 🥲

If it’s anything like my cameras the moment I saw the reel thing not spin on the left when you advanced to your next gram I knew what it was gonna be. Happened to me ONE time and never again. My tip to make sure your film is latched on correctly is when you first load the film, hold the spool thingy on the left while you advance your film SLOWLY. If it gets tight that means it’s hook, if you can advance your film with no resistance you might want to check your film before you start shooting. Also not every camera is going to be like that but just a good rule of thumb.

I have my very first film camera. It’s secondhand and pretty much vintage (Canon EOS 1000 SLR). It also came with an expired film roll but I wanted to try it out anyway. But I’m scared by the time I’m done, I’ll ended up with blanks 😭😭

when advancing the film to the next shot, the film take up spool should eventually spin. If you are paranoid, wind the take up spool until you feel tension then advance to the first frame. if it spins, good! if not respool and load again.

hi i shoot an f2 also. biggest flag is when u wind the left reel doesn't move. the left reel will spin when you wind its a good indicator that you are reeling your spool correctly!
