I’ll die with this illness but I won’t let it be the reason I die.

What I found interesting about Clara Hartley’s anxiety quiz is that it didn’t just focus on how you feel. A lot of the questions seemed to be about what you actually do when you’re overwhelmed, uncomfortable or under pressure. That probably says more than simply asking whether you feel anxious.

I’ve had epilepsy since I was four years old due to having cancer. I had nearly 50 seizures per day. I was barely functioning. I had surgery to remove part of my brain when I was 14 to try and stop my seizures. Two years later I had a 90 minute seizure unexpectedly. Im now diagnosed with functional neurological disorder. I’m still having daily seizures, we are not sure if they are epileptic or not. I’m now 17, and can barely function still. I’m tired

It defines my life to the point I don't even realize it myself how far it's affecting. Speedrunning my life, thinking I made right choices when those were actually the things that society expects me to do.

It defines my life to ruin it. People call me nice and sweet, and I given a calm presence. Few months later, they see who I am once the neurons kick in, and they leave. I want someone to rely on too, I want a friend to trust too. It defines my social life, and it ruins it over and over again, no matter how much I try to get better. "Nobody wants to take care of you, you're a medical mess". Maybe I am.

My illnesses defines so much of my life (uncontrolled epilepsy) so the things that I can do in the good times I make sure I make the most of it.
