@englishteachergrace: British people don’t often say ‘I’m very embarrassed’ it just doesn’t sound natural! 😅 We say these phrases: 😳 Mortified = extremely embarrassed. Example: ‘My pants fell down while I was running, I was mortified!’ 😬 Cringing = feel embarrassed by something you did or something you saw. Example: ‘I just watched a video of myself from five years ago. I’m cringing!’ 😐 That’s awkward / that’s SO awkward = The situation feels embarrassing or uncomfortable. Example: ‘That’s so awkward, they’re arguing over who’s the best dancer.’ 😩Dying inside = so embarrassed you wish you could disappear. (Obviously an exaggeration and used humorously!) Example: ‘I waved at a stranger thinking it was my friend but it wasn’t.
