Spiritual Meaning It means that: He had been enduring prolonged suffering, hardship, and affliction. He felt weak, exhausted, and spiritually drained. Yet despite all these trials, he did not abandon God's Word. That is why the verse concludes: "Yet I do not forget Your statutes." Lesson for Believers Today Trials may weaken us, but they should not cause us to lose our trust in God. Even in difficult circumstances, we should remain faithful to God's Word. God sees the suffering of His people and, in His perfect timing, renews and strengthens them (see Psalm 34:18 and Isaiah 40:31). Therefore, "I have become like a wineskin in the smoke" does not mean that the psalmist had become useless.
