Summer in Japan has its own soundtrack: cicadas during the day and hanabi after dark 🎇🎆🎇 More than 1,000 fireworks displays are held across Japan every year. Summer, especially July and August, is the heart of the season. Some are small and local, while others turn the entire night sky into a show. We ended up at one of the most incredible ones, the Kanmon Kaikyo Fireworks Festival, held across the strait between Honshu and Kyushu. And simply saying “we watched fireworks” doesn’t quite describe what it felt like. They were launching from both sides of the water. Every time we turned toward one explosion, another was lighting up the sky behind us. At some point, we genuinely didn’t know where to look. Around 18,000 fireworks in one night. I tried to squeeze the feeling of being there into one Reel. It doesn’t really fit 😅 . #reallifeinmotion #hanabi #japanesesummer #lifeinjapan #関門海峡花火大会
