In the past, SWL was widely used for lifting equipment such as: * Wire rope slings * Chain slings * Shackles * Hooks * Cranes * Lifting beams However, SWL is now considered an outdated term in many international standards because it can be interpreted differently. ⸻ What is WLL (Working Load Limit)? WLL (Working Load Limit) is the maximum load that a lifting device or lifting accessory is designed and rated to lift safely during normal operation. WLL is the official and internationally accepted term used by manufacturers and standards such as ASME, EN, ISO, and OSHA.
