Since this video has already managed to generate a whole lot of opinions from people who weren’t actually there, here’s what REALLY happened at this Target restock. People had been standing IN LINE since 4 AM. We had an organized line, everyone knew who was where, and everything was completely peaceful. Then Target employees specifically told us they WOULD NOT HONOR THE LINE and that when the Pokémon product came out, it was going to be a “FREE FOR ALL.” Their words. Not ours. So imagine standing there for HOURS, doing exactly what you’re supposed to do, keeping an orderly line, only to be told right before the product comes out that your place in line means absolutely nothing and everyone is basically expected to scramble for it. And people are surprised that it turned into chaos? 😂 The limit was 2 per person. The guy you see with six boxes wasn't buying six boxes for himself or “scalping” them. He grabbed them for the half-dozen people who had been standing together at the front of that line since 4 AM. Everyone still had to make their own purchase and follow Target’s limit. Nobody needed to run. Nobody needed to push. Nobody needed to fight over Pokémon cards. We ALREADY HAD A LINE. Target made the decision not to honor it. If a store knows a highly sought-after Pokémon product is being restocked and people have been peacefully waiting for hours, why would the solution be to tell everyone, “We’re not honoring your line. It’s a free for all”? That doesn’t prevent chaos. It CREATES it. And before anyone starts screaming about purchase limits — if you have an issue with what someone is allowed to buy, take that up with the STORE. The limits are set and enforced by Target, not by random people in the Pokémon aisle and definitely not by the comment section. There are absolutely legitimate problems with scalping and reselling in this hobby. But seeing someone holding multiple boxes in a 30-second video without knowing the context doesn't automatically make them a scalper. This whole mess could have been avoided by doing the simplest thing possible: Honor the line that was already there. Instead, Target literally told us it would be a FREE FOR ALL… …and this is what a free for all looks like. 🎯🤷‍♀️ #PokemonTCG #TargetRestock #PokemonHunting #PokemonRestock #PokemonCommunity © 2026 Jenn Russell.
