HR here, and to my fellow HR professionals—please don't do this to applicants. If a candidate isn't qualified, provide proper and specific feedback. Let them know why they weren't selected so they have the opportunity to improve and prepare better for their next interview. A few minutes of honest feedback can make a huge difference in someone's career journey. What applicants shouldn't experience is being told, "We'll call you back," only to be ghosted. It's unprofessional and disrespectful to the time, money, effort, and hope they invested in the application process. Not every applicant deserves a job offer, but every applicant deserves clarity and respect. If it's a rejection, communicate it. Professionalism doesn't end after the interview. Thanks.
