Manases “Mans” Carpio alleging that the House Committee on Justice violated the Bank Secrecy Law, the Data Privacy Act, and the Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA) was nothing more than a distraction from the ongoing impeachment proceedings against his wife, Vice President Sara Duterte. Ridon said the complaint would eventually be dismissed, given that the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), banks, and the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) had already complied with the subpoenas issued by the Senate impeachment court for the production of documents related to the couple's financial accounts. Ridon, along with Reps. Joel Chua, Antonio Tinio, and Renee Co, was included in the complaint through an addendum.
