I cut the plunger off of my solenoid after my third replacement. You just have to let it idle for about 10-15 seconds before you shut it off or it backfires.

I did a battery delete on my mower and mounted one of those battery jumpers in mine. Use my Milwaukee batties all the time. haven't had any go bad. way better than buying a dang battery every dang season.

I have the cheap Harbor freight small jump pack and it works great. Get 4-6 jumps per charge and the battery doesn't drain when I let it sit for 3+ months at a time

Go on and get you a noco jump pack. Found out the hard way that a regular half ton won’t jump my 3.0 duramax so I got one. Jumped my sons 70cc four wheeler I can’t tell you how many times before charging bc I was lazy and wouldn’t buy a battery.
